Manage locations

The Manage Locations feature of K inventory’s stock management software enables you to structure locations for your SKUs efficiently. By creating categories such as “Cupboard” or “Stock”, you can associate your files with the appropriate locations. This methodical organization will give you easy access to your items and improve your inventory management.

1. Click on the Alternative text test

 

2. Click on the category button button, followed by theCreate a category easily with k inventor

 

3. Enter the name of your categoryand associate it with references type folder

 

4. Select stock type

You can also create another cabinet-type category for more precise location.

Cabinets also allow you to classify references on shelves.

 

5. Click on Custom fields and then on Create a custom field

 

6. Enter the name of your field and choose the type List drop-down list

 

7. Select Name of stock at Corresponding field

You can do the same for cabinets and shelves by creating a corresponding field :

8. Assign a category to your folders when creating or modifying them.

For optimum, stable operation, you can :

  • Place your files in storage cabinets
  • Do not put a stock file in another stock file, and the same applies to cabinets.
  • Do not place a stock folder in a cabinet folder

 

9. In the file of a cabinet-type folder, click on the shelf knobtab, then enter the name of the shelves you wish to add and save your changes.

Depending on the location of your references your fields Stock and fields Cabinet fields will be updated, and you’ll also have access to the shelves.
